Job Title:                     Competitions Coordinator

 

Reports To:                 UPNA Board of Management

Direct Reports:           NSG Coordinator, First Aid Officer, Carnival Coordinator (for Club Carnivals)

Position Type:             Voluntary

 

Appointed by:             UPNA Board of Management

Term of Role:              12 month initially, further 12 months by Board renewal approval

 

 

Role and Responsibilities

 

  • Be responsible for compiling and maintaining registration forms associated with teams before commencement of fixtures

  • Maintain a record of past and present registered players of teams playing in the Association competitions. All members of UPNA must be registered on Netball Queensland’s national database.

  • Ensure that relevant member details are submitted in line with Netball Queensland’s timelines (latest 4 weeks from beginning of competitions) and requirements  

  • Update UPNA registration form as required– hard copy and on website

  • Act as convenor of grading and fixtures. Prepare fixture draws for each season, competition and carnival. Undertake necessary grading changes. 

  • Arrange distribution of fixtures to all clubs/teams

  • Be responsible for verifying that the signatures of each player on the score sheet corresponds with that on the team registration sheet. Scoresheets are to be stored for seven (7) years in case of injury insurance claims

  • Be responsible for keeping record of all competition match results and issue regular progress reports

  • Note players playing in a higher grade at the completion of each round of fixtures and ensure records for each team are amended after each match

  • Record goals for and goals against and annual team average. Produce a competition ladder for all competitive groups. 

  • Keep all members particulars confidential

  • Be available for enquiries regarding team placement and respond when necessary. 

  • Send out infringement notices to players/teams in accordance with current playing rules

  • Ensure players/teams are abiding by the association’s code of conducts and playing rules

  • Ensure scoresheets are ready prior to games and accessible before commencement of fixtures and collected and returned after every game. 

  • Be present on Saturdays (or Night season) to run the control room. Time keep, collect scorecards and control buzzer.  (or assign delegate to these tasks)

  • Be familiar with Netball Queensland’s Calendar of Events and the Association Update 

  • Attend all operational role meetings

  • Provide feedback and update the UPNA Board on all key matters

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Ensure all members of the association are registered with NQ prior to first game

  • Fixture competition and carnivals (both club and rep) are run efficiently and effectively

  • Management of conflict, queries and complaints are effectively handled and escalated as required

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Hold a current blue card or be able to obtain
